- 1 identity document (digital version possible)
- Proof of entitlement for beneficiaries of reduced rates

  • If you already have a OùRA! card

- On the STAS online travel shop
- Or go to an automatic ticket vending machine (NB: the travel pass start date will be the date of purchase; payment of the year in one go only).
- In one of the Espaces Transports

Annual travel pass: how do I know if my pass is automatically renewed?

If you took out a subscription paid for by direct debit, your travel pass will be automatically renewed (tacit renewal). You don't need to do anything!

About two months before the due date, you will receive a letter from the STAS informing you of the renewal of your travel pass and then a second letter with your payment schedule for the next year's travel pass.

From what date to what date is my monthly travel pass valid?

Monthly travel passes are valid for a calendar month. They start on the 1st of the month and run till the last day of the civil month

Travel passes go on sale on the 20th of the month for the following month.

How long is a single ticket valid after purchase?

There is no expiry date for single tickets. You can use a ticket even several months after buying it.

Users are responsible for keeping their ticket in good condition. If it is damaged and illegible or unusable, the STAS will not refund or replace the card. Users can be penalised for not having a valid ticket.

Who can get the reduced rate?

To be able to buy "reduced rate" tickets and travel passes, you will need to load a special entitlement onto your OùRA! card. This can be done at the one of the STAS Espaces Transport on presentation of proof of entitlement.

The price of annual and monthly travel passes varies according to age:

  • Young people (under 26)

It takes into account different personal situations.

  • Jobseekers

Jobseekers can benefit from reduced rates, although this is subject to means testing and proof of entitlement must be provided every month.

You must go to the CCAS (social services) or your local town hall to have your application approved (more info in the Tarifs Solidaires (Solidarity rates) guide below).

  • Pensioners (over 60)

Pensioners over 60 can benefit from reduced rates, subject to means testing.

You must go to the CCAS (social services) or your local town hall to have your application approved. (more info in the Tarifs Solidaires (Solidarity rates) guide below).

  • CSS-E (ex-CMU-C) tickets/1-month CSS-E (ex-CMU-C) and 1-year CSS-E (ex-CMU-C)

Those benefiting from an up-to-date CSS-E (ex-CMU-C) Traveller Profile on their OuRA! card can get reduced rates. (Beneficiaries of the CSS solidarity complementary health insurance exempt from contributions as dependants in the household aged under 25).

You must go to the CCAS (social services) or your local town hall to have your application approved if you live within the boundaries of Saint-Étienne  Métropole. Otherwise, you can apply directly in one of the Espaces Transport on presentation of the required proof of entitlement.  Your right to reduced rate travel on the network will cease when your CSS beneficiary exempt from contributions certificate expires.

Who can benefit from free travel on the STAS network?

Free travel is granted to:

  • children under the age of 4 as long as they do not occupy a seat or they sit on the lap of the person accompanying them
