As the only city in France to have always kept a tramline running in the city centre, it is only natural that Saint-Etienne should have a public transport museum.Museum picture

It's true to say that the people of Saint-Etienne have always had a soft spot for their trams. The 1200m² museum pays tribute to the employees of the CFVE and the STAS who dedicated a large part of their lives to building, day after day, the public transport system we are using today.

Inaugurated on 18 June 1993, the museum tells the story of 120 years of know-how and services rendered to several generations of local people.

Visits

Every Wednesday from 2 to 7 pm.
For groups of 10 people and over, it is possible to organise visits on other days. Please contact the association that runs the museum by e-mail.
